For the Goddess of Earth

In indigenous South American cultures, Pachamama is the goddess of fertility, synonymous with “Mother Earth” or “Mother Nature”. She represents the feminine power within all of us that creates and nurtures all life on Earth. 

We named ourselves “Pachamama” to pay homage to this Indigenous South American concept and as such, everything we sell in our shop is loving to ourselves, loving to each other, and loving to Mother Earth. 

99% Plastic-Free

All products in our shop are 99% plastic-free and our business itself strives to be as zerowaste as possible.

Humans use a lot of plastic. However, the production and disposal of plastic is damaging to human health, wildlife, and the environment.

Production:

The pre-production plastic pellets used to form the final plastic products we recognize and use, are called nurdles. Nurdles are small, light, and easily spilt as they transport from factory to factory, across the globe at every stage of the manufacturing process, and polluting the environment as one of the biggest sources of microplastic. 

Disposal:

Currently, most plastic waste in Taiwan either ends up being incinerated or left in the environment. This pollutes the environment physically, as large and small pieces of plastic hazardous to wildlife, and chemically, by releasing toxins like dioxin and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) into the air, soil, and water.

Recycling: 

Recycling is a half-solution at best. In reality, 90% of plastic waste does not get recycled, and what little is recycled is mostly downcycled and eventually still ends up as waste, as plastic can only be recycled a limited number of times.
